In dance, Alice has dedicated herself to arts administration and dance education. She is passionate about providing opportunities for young artists to thrive and grow, and her experience in dance management and her deep understanding of the Australian contemporary dance scene make her an ideal leader for QL2 Dance.
With a focus on developing the dance artists of the future, QL2 Dance is a dance company, arts organisation, education centre, and youth organisation located in Braddon, Canberra. Established in the late 1990s as the Australian Choreographic Centre, QL2 Dance has since grown to become a leader in youth dance practise nationally and internationally.
The organisation's mission is to nurture, support, and connect young, emerging, and professional artists through a comprehensive programme of productions, projects, and residencies. QL2 Dance provides a platform for young dancers to explore and develop their creativity, while also offering opportunities for independent artists to further their practise.
Under the guidance of outgoing Artistic Director Ruth Osborne, QL2 Dance has played a pivotal role in the development of countless young artists. Many of the company's alumni have gone on to become successful dance professionals both in Australia and overseas.
As Ruth Osborne steps down, a gradual transition and handover period is planned for the organisation over the next 12 months. Alice Lee Holland, the incoming Artistic Director, brings a wealth of experience in dance management and education. Her passion for providing opportunities for young artists aligns perfectly with QL2 Dance's mission.
In addition to nurturing and supporting young dancers, QL2 Dance also serves as a hub for the ACT dance community. The organisation offers a range of programmes and initiatives designed to connect artists and provide a supportive environment for collaboration and growth.
With its expanding reach and commitment to developing the next generation of dance artists, QL2 Dance is at the forefront of Australian youth dance. As it embarks on this new chapter, the organisation remains dedicated to fostering creativity, innovation, and artistic excellence in the dance community.
