Make a Move is a fantastic opportunity for primary and secondary teachers to expand their knowledge and skills in the field of contemporary dance. This program, offered by the renowned Contemporary Dance club in Braddon, QL2 Dance, aims to provide teachers with a graduated and holistic professional learning experience.
Through Make a Move, teachers will have the chance to engage in experiential learning of the creative choreographic process through movement and imagination. By integrating dance education into the curriculum, teachers can foster problem-solving, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication skills among their students.
One of the highlights of the Make a Move program is the seminar program, where teachers will have the opportunity to work alongside professional dance artists. This program emphasises the connections between dance and other subjects, allowing for a diverse range of learning opportunities for students. The seminar program is TQI accredited and contributes to teachers' identified professional learning hours.
In addition to the seminar program, Make a Move also includes in-school workshops. These workshops provide teachers with valuable resources, support, and evaluation to enhance their teaching practices. The workshops offer an action learning approach, ensuring teachers have the opportunity to put their newfound knowledge and skills into practice.
To participate in the Make a Move program, teachers are required to invest $300 per teacher, which covers the cost of the three program activities outlined above. Please note that student costs for attending performances are to be paid separately. To make the payment process convenient, QL2 Dance offers options for credit card or direct bank transfer payments.
