Welcome to Portsmouth Sailing Club! Located in the heart of historic Old Portsmouth, the club offers a fantastic waterfront setting for sailing enthusiasts. The clubhouse, situated right on the waterfront, provides all the amenities needed for a great sailing experience. With a fully stocked bar, function room, kitchen, and changing rooms, members have everything they need to relax and socialise after a day on the water.
One of the club's highlights is its access to 60 metres of pontoon and slipway at the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour, just inside the historic Town Camber. This convenient location allows for easy access to the water and ensures a smooth sailing experience. Additionally, in 2018, a crane was installed, providing the capability for launching keelboats, RIBs, and tenders.
The club also boasts two boatyards. The main boatyard, known as the Boom Yard, offers stunning views across the Eastern Solent and serves as a popular spot for Club BBQs during the summer months. It provides a picturesque setting for members to enjoy social gatherings while admiring the beauty of the surrounding area. The club also runs Wyllie's Garden, another boatyard that offers additional facilities and services for members.
For those interested in competitive sailing, Portsmouth Sailing Club has an active racing fleet of National Squibs. The club is closely affiliated with the Victory Class Association, which further enhances the racing opportunities available to members. Whether you're a seasoned racer or new to the sport, there are plenty of opportunities to test your skills and enjoy some friendly competition.
In addition to local racing events, Portsmouth Sailing Club also hosts national and international championships. Recently, the club had the honour of hosting the International Tempest Class Nationals and will be hosting the Tempest World Championships in 2023.
