Poole Piranhas Basketball Club, led by our dedicated organiser, Ellie, is proud to be a cornerstone for basketball enthusiasts in Bournemouth, UK. This club welcomes boys and girls aged 7 to 17, whether they are just starting or looking to step up their game.
Since 2018, Poole Piranhas has been officially registered with Basketball England under the Dorset Basketball Association, demonstrating its commitment to growing the sport locally. Training sessions are hosted at The Bourne Academy and The Cornerstone Academy, providing accessible locations for all involved.
Ellie has meticulously structured training groups to ensure all players feel at ease while learning. The groups include Kinder (7-8 years old), Nippers (9–11 years old), Juniors (12–14 years old), Seniors (15–17 years old), and a dedicated Girls Group (12–17 years old). Each session is crafted to meet the varied needs and goals of each age group. Under the guidance of experienced coaches, players will develop fundamental skills, teamwork abilities, and a genuine love for basketball.
For the youngest players, Kinder sessions are held on Saturdays and Sundays at The Bourne Academy. As they grow in skill and age, they can move up to the Nippers group. Nippers, aimed at players aged 9-11, train on Saturdays and Sundays at The Bourne Academy and on Tuesdays and Thursdays at The Cornerstone Academy. Adjustable hoops are available for those not ready for the regulation height.
Membership at Poole Piranhas costs £27.50 per month, granting access to relevant training sessions per age group. As members progress, they can join higher-level groups or the U10 and U12 teams for competitive play.
