Pool Rescue is a fantastic opportunity for all interested players to enhance their skills and prepare for the Surf Life Saving New Zealand Pool Rescue Championship. Hosted by the renowned Omanu Beach Surf Life Saving Club, this weekly training program takes place during Winter.
The main objective of Pool Rescue is to complement existing swim fitness training and develop stronger and fitter lifeguards. Participants will learn a range of essential skills, such as tube rescue, object recovery, underwater swimming, swimming with obstacles, and using fins. These skills will undoubtedly contribute to their performance and success in the championship.
The training sessions are open to athletes of different categories, including Oceans age, Seniors, and Masters. Simply put, anyone aged 10 years or above as of September 30th, 2023, can take part in this exciting program. The training sessions themselves are held at two fantastic locations: Baywave Mount College Pool and Rotorua Aquatic Centre.
Although the dates for the competition are yet to be announced, it's never too early to start preparing. And the best part is, the entire season costs just $50, which includes any necessary entries for Baywave.
