Clevedon's Plantations Lakes is a picturesque fishing pond and fishing club located in the beautiful countryside of Kingston Seymour. With three lakes to choose from – the Coarse Lake, the Jubilee Lake, and the Carp Lake – anglers of all levels can enjoy a variety of fishing experiences.
For day anglers, Plantations Lakes offers day sessions on all three lakes. The main lake does not require booking, and anglers can pay on the bank either in cash or card. However, both the Jubilee and Carp Lake require booking through the Catch APP, providing convenience and ease of access.
For those looking for a more immersive fishing experience, Plantations Lakes offers night fishing sessions on the Jubilee and Carp Lake. These sessions range from 24 to 48 hours, providing ample time for anglers to enjoy the tranquilly of the lakes. Due to limited spaces, night fishing is only permitted by prior online booking. Currently, night fishing is only allowed on the carp lake and Jubilee lake, with a maximum of 7 people on the carp lake and 6 on the Jubilee.
However, day sessions are permitted on both lakes.
Plantations Lakes also offers rental equipment for those who may not have their own fishing gear. They have basic rods & poles, landing nets, landing mats, umbrellas, and chairs available for rental. If the onsite shop is not open, anglers can simply call the club, and they will bring the necessary equipment to the fishing spot.
For those who enjoy the competitive aspect of fishing, Plantations Lakes hosts public and private matches throughout the year on both the Jubilee Lake and the Main Lake. Anglers can check the match diary tab for upcoming matches and get in touch with the club for more details and to book in.
Plantations Lakes is proud to be working with Angling Trust on their Get Fishing campaign. They offer Get Fishing days throughout the year, catering to all levels of fishing expertise. Pre-booking is essential as these sessions run in small numbers. The club also accommodates group bookings, making it ideal for those looking to work through the Get Fishing awards.
Fish care and conservation are of utmost importance at Plantations Lakes. The club practises catch and release, ensuring that no fish are taken away at any time. Correct nets and fishing mats are to be used at all times, and the club provides rentals for those who forget theirs. Landing nets, mats, and weigh slings must be dipped on arrival, and keep nets are not allowed without prior permission.
Additionally, rods are not to be left unattended, and barbless hooks are mandatory.
To maintain a harmonious fishing environment, Plantations Lakes has set certain restrictions and rules. These include the use of barbless hooks, no multi-hook lines, no lead core or leaders (only tubing), no fixed rigs, and a maximum hook size of 10 for the main lake and Jubilee. Bait rules include no use of tigernuts, bloodworm or joker, and fake baits. Anglers are also advised not to overfeed their swim.
Swim rules are in place to ensure a tidy and safe fishing experience for all. Rods are not to be left unattended at any time, and anglers are responsible for keeping their swim tidy and leaving a clear space behind for vehicle access. All rubbish must be taken away, and a large bin is provided on the premises.
With its serene lakes, diverse fishing experiences, and commitment to fish care and conservation, Plantations Lakes in Clevedon is a haven for anglers seeking a memorable and enjoyable fishing adventure in the heart of New Zealand's countryside.
