Phantoms Cricket Club

Phantoms Cricket Club, located in Novar Gardens, South Australia, is a vibrant and inclusive cricket club with a rich history and a strong focus on community involvement. The club caters to players of all ages and genders, with teams in the women's, men's, and juniors' divisions.

For junior players, Phantoms Cricket Club offers a supportive and nurturing environment, with dedicated coaches who are passionate about helping young cricketers develop their skills and enjoy the game. The club welcomes boys and girls under 10s and 12's, as well as girls under 12's who are interested in joining the club and embarking on a wonderful cricket journey.

Blasters, an introduction to cricket programme sponsored by Woolworths and Cricket Australia, is also available for children looking to learn the basic skills of the sport through fun and engaging games.

The club's women's team, the reigning back-to-back premiers in the Super 12's social competition, is seeking to expand its programme in the upcoming season. This includes the addition of a hardwicket team for the 2021/22 season and the formation of girls' teams in the under 12's and 16's junior competitions. Interested individuals are encouraged to join the club and become part of this exciting journey.

Phantoms Cricket Club was initially founded in 1953 as Glenelg ANA Cricket Club by Bob White and his mates. Over its 70-year history, the club has achieved significant success, including a total of 17 premierships. Notably, the club has won five topships in the Adelaide and Suburban Cricket Association's Section 1 competition. In 2017, the club underwent a name change to Phantoms Cricket to align with its football and netball club partners, Plympton High Old Scholars and Camden Football and Netball Clubs.

The club's committee consists of passionate individuals who work tirelessly to ensure the smooth operation and success of the club. From the President, Matthew 'Polka' Polkinghorne, to the Secretary, Steven 'Johnno' Johnson, and the Events Organiser, Cameron 'Stumpy' Moore, the committee members are dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for all players and fostering a strong sense of camaraderie within the club.

To celebrate victories and promote team spirit, Phantoms Cricket Club has adopted the club song of PHOS Camden Football Club. With new lyrics penned by Jim Jackaman, the song is sung with passion and pride by players and supporters after a hard-fought victory.

These documents ensure that the club operates within a safe and inclusive environment for all members.
