Of Rock and Chalk is York Regions leading climbing gym located in the heart of Newmarket. Our gym offers a fun and exciting challenge for climbers of all levels and ages, making it a great activity for the whole family. Whether you are looking for kids rock climbing lessons, team building activities for your corporate group, or just a fun day out, we have something for everyone.
With over 46 routes ranging in height from 10 to 37 feet, simulated rock faces, chimney climbing, crack climbing, top rope, and lead climbing areas, our gym provides a variety of climbing experiences. We also have 10 auto belay systems that allow climbers to climb independently and safely control their descent when needed.
For safety reasons, climbers under the age of 12 must be supervised by someone who is at least 16 years old. Additionally, we recommend bringing extra supervisors for groups larger than 4 to ensure a safe and enjoyable climbing experience for everyone.
In addition to our regular climbing offerings, we also host special events, camps, and lessons for those looking to learn or improve their climbing skills. Our professional instructors ensure safety while providing an exhilarating and educational experience for all participants.
