Tom, the organiser of Oakleigh Park School of Swimming, would like to share a few highlights with the sports community. Tom is a member of the Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group (PWTAG), which ensures the pool water is always safe and healthy, making sure everyone enjoys a top-notch swimming environment.
At Oakleigh Park, there's something for everyone, be it lessons for babies, kids, or adults. They aim to build water confidence and improve swimming skills across all ages. For those interested in adventure, scuba diving courses are on offer for individuals aged 8 and above, providing a fantastic way to explore underwater worlds safely. Additionally, there's lifeguard and swimming teacher training, helping folks gain essential skills for water safety.
Lessons take place in Whetstone and Woodside Park, both in Barnet, North London. Facilities are modern, with Whetstone offering a parent watching area and refreshments, so parents can kick back with a drink while keeping an eye on their children. Meanwhile, Woodside Park boasts a viewing area, training facility, party room, and soft play area, making it an enjoyable spot for everyone.
Classes are kept cosy and manageable, with warm pool temperatures and a maximum teacher-to-student ratio of 6:1 in group sessions. An assistant might join to ensure everyone gets the attention they deserve, making the learning experience effective and fun.
Serving the local community since 1975, Oakleigh Park is a family-run business. Beyond regular term-time lessons, they offer intensive courses during holidays, perfect for those who want to see quick progress. Whether group or private lessons are preferred, they cater to everyone’s needs.
As a PADI Recreational Facility, Oakleigh Park maintains high standards in scuba diving education. They offer snorkelling lessons for children aged 6 and up, as well as try dives for those aged 10 and above.
Tom takes pride in the fact that Oakleigh Park is a trusted training centre for lifeguards and swimming teachers, certified by respected organisations like the STA and RLSS.
