N Z Seido Karate Shibu, located in Corner of Ferry Road, Christchurch, is a well-established and highly respected karate school. With a rich history dating back to 1965, it is the longest continuously operating karate club in Canterbury. Founded by Doug Holloway, one of the pioneers of Kyokushinkai in New Zealand, the dojo has since been headed by Hanshi Renzie Hanham, an 8th Dan Black Belt and the current head instructor.

Throughout the years, N Z Seido Karate Shibu has welcomed thousands of individuals from all walks of life, ages, and stages on their karate journey. The 10-week Gassho programme, designed specifically for the Hohepa community, focuses on basic techniques and karate etiquette. It aims to foster a sense of belonging, inspire personal growth, and help participants achieve their individual goals.
