Welcome to NowYoga, a unique studio in central Wellington that combines yoga classes and contemporary art. NowYoga was established by Katie Christie, a trained yoga, Pilates, and Barre instructor. Katie aims to help people at any stage of their yoga, Pilates, and Barre journey to learn and expand their practise. She personally finds that Pilates is extremely beneficial in her yoga practise and believes that the two are very complementary.
Furthermore, her recent studies in Barre have allowed her to bring her Pilates knowledge into a new discipline, offering classes that focus on strength and stamina. NowYoga is a perfect wellness offering all within one great space.
Situated in Yogallery, NowYoga is not only a space for yoga and Pilates but also displays contemporary artworks. The studio features lightworks that illuminate the space at night, creating a magical and ambient feel during yoga classes. NowYoga offers a variety of classes throughout the week. To view the full timetable and book classes, please register with Momoyoga to set up an account. NowYoga offers classes suitable for all levels of yoga experience, and if you have any questions, feel free to reach out and chat with Katie or one of her teachers. No matter where you are at on your yoga journey, NowYoga has something for you.
On Mondays, NowYoga offers a Barre class from 7:15 am to 8:00 am. This dynamic and upbeat class uses a stability barre and other props for a whole-body workout. Barre is based on Pilates principles and is a fantastic addition to your Pilates practise, as well as a compliment to your yoga. Most importantly, it's a fun class!
Additionally, they offer a Hatha Slow Flow class from 12:15 pm to 1:00 pm, providing a gentle hatha flow that allows you to take some time out from work and recharge for the afternoon. This class is suitable for all levels. In the evening, there is a Vinyasa Flow class from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, which nourishes the body, mind, and soul, leaving you with a nice post-class spring in your step.
Tuesdays feature a Stretch and Strengthen class from 12:15 pm to 1:00 pm. This class incorporates light weights, cardio, and strength-based exercises, making it a great option for those wanting to tone and strengthen their bodies while having fun. Additionally, there is a Vinyasa Flow class in the evening, which leaves you feeling uplifted and grounded.
Wednesday mornings begin with a Mat Pilates class from 7:15 am to 8:00 am. This class focuses on powering up your core and strengthening your body from the inside out. At lunchtime, NowYoga offers a Vinyasa Flow class from 12:15 pm to 1:00 pm, providing a refreshing practise to energise the body and nourish the soul.
Thursdays start with a Vinyasa Flow class to put a spring in your step, setting you up for the day. This class is available every Thursday. They also offer a lunchtime Mat Pilates class from 12:15 pm to 1:00 pm, which powers up your core and strengthens your body, giving you the energy to finish the day strong. Additionally, on Thursday evenings, NowYoga has a monthly programme to keep your practise fresh.
The first Thursday of the month features a gentle and soothing moon flow with Martina. On the second Thursday, the class takes an anatomical focus, emphasising a specific part of the body.
