Spirit, and dedication to the principles of house league basketball. In his honour, NTBA created the Kelly Silverstein Award, which is presented annually to the male and female players in the rep program who best exemplify these characteristics. The recipient of this award is selected by their coaches based on their commitment to the game, positive attitude, sportsmanship, and overall contribution to the team.
The North Toronto Basketball Association, located in Toronto, is a vibrant and inclusive basketball club offering house leagues and rep programs for boys and girls of all skill levels. The Boys House League, with registration for the upcoming season now closed, aims to provide a fun and competitive environment for boys aged 8 to 18. With a philosophy of equal playing time for all players, the league focuses on skills development, teamwork, and good sportsmanship. Over 800 boys have participated in previous seasons across five age groups, coached by dedicated volunteers who foster a spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition.
As a member club of the Ontario Basketball Association (OBA), NTBA is committed to the safety and well-being of its players, coaches, and volunteers. The club fully supports the OBA Concussion Policy & Code of Conduct and requires all participants to review and acknowledge these policies annually. The club's dedication to player safety is further exemplified by the Kelly Silverstein Award, presented in memory of a former player and coach who embodied the values of fun, teamwork, and dedication to the sport.
NTBA also offers a Girls House League and Rep Program, providing opportunities for female players to develop their skills and passion for basketball in a supportive and encouraging environment. The club hosts various events and clinics, such as shooting clinics and tryouts for the North Toronto Huskies rep teams.
