Lost her life to a rip current and how it inspired her to become a lifeguard. Jimmy's Story Jimmy talks about his experience as a lifeguard and the importance of rip current awareness.
Welcome to North Peregian Lifeguard, the top surf lifesaving club located in beautiful Peregian Beach on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland. Our club is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of beachgoers, and we pride ourselves on providing a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
North Peregian Lifeguard is situated in the stunning Marcus Beach area, only a short distance from Noosa West and Yaroomba. Our club patrols the beach from 08:00 to 17:00 daily, with professional lifeguards from the Australian Lifeguard Service ensuring the safety of swimmers and surfers.
At North Peregian Lifeguard, we prioritise safety above all else. Our club is equipped with modern facilities, including toilets for both males and females. We have strict regulations in place to protect the beach and its visitors, such as no camping, no littering, no vehicles, and no fires. We make it a priority to educate beachgoers about the potential hazards, including strong currents, beach rips, and marine stingers.
As a part of our dedication to safety, we provide up-to-date information on weather conditions, including swell, wind, tide, UV index, and general hazard ratings. However, it is important to note that surf conditions can be highly variable, and it is always recommended to observe local conditions and understand your own abilities in the surf. We strongly advise swimmers to always stay between the red and yellow flags and avoid swimming at unpatrolled beaches.
North Peregian Lifeguard is an active member of the Surf Life Saving Association (SLSA), which ensures that our club meets the highest standards of safety and professionalism. SLSA provides invaluable resources and guidance to our lifeguards, allowing us to offer the best possible service to the community.
One of the biggest hazards on Australian beaches is rip currents, responsible for numerous drownings every year. North Peregian Lifeguard is dedicated to raising awareness about rip currents and helping people understand how to spot and survive them. We offer educational resources, including a video tutorial and stories from individuals who have experienced rips firsthand.
We are proud to have a team of dedicated lifeguards at North Peregian Lifeguard, who work tirelessly to keep our beach safe. Furthermore, we have stories from members, such as Derek, Samantha, and Jimmy, who share their personal experiences with rips and the importance of rip current awareness.
To further support our mission, we encourage beachgoers to download the Beachsafe App, which provides the latest information about Australian beaches. We also accept donations to help fund our lifesaving efforts, as even a small contribution can make a significant difference in saving lives.
At North Peregian Lifeguard, we are committed to ensuring the safety of all who visit our beach. Join us in our efforts to protect and serve the community and make North Peregian Beach a safer place for everyone.
