Nitro Equine, located in Whanganui, is a reputable horse breeder, horse trainer, and horseback riding service. With a focus on breeding quality progeny through careful matches of broodmares to stallions, Nitro Equine produces safe kids ponies and competitive Performance Ponies and Sport Horses. Their services include expert handling, schooling, and competing, ensuring the horses are well-prepared for a variety of disciplines.
Nitro Equine offers horses for sale and is available for transporting through any reputable equine transporter Nationwide. They are proud to have stood Welsh cob stallion Troon Typhoon at stud from 2017 to 2022, and have now gelded him to enjoy him as their family pony. With 12 progeny from Troon Typhoon, Nitro Equine eagerly anticipates watching them grow up and succeed.
Rachael Kirk, the founder of Nitro Equine, started the business in 2013 with the goal of breeding ponies that are affordable for her family, especially her daughter Emma. Recognising the high cost of quality ponies and horses, Rachael decided to breed 2-4 a year with the intention of producing as many as possible before selling them. Nitro Equine uses stallions with both live cover and artificial insemination (AI) and carefully selects mares based on their nature, bloodlines, and ridden successes. They have a diverse breeding programme that includes Welsh, German Riding Pony, Morgan, Connemara, Holsteiner, as well as New Zealand East Coast, Northland, and station-bred ponies and sport horses.
Nitro Equine prides itself on being a family-operated business. Rachael's daughters Emma and Lucie, along with catch riders and team members, play an integral role in the operation and have contributed to the growing recognition of the Nitro Equine brand across New Zealand. In addition to their own horses, Nitro Equine also campaigns selected projects and sells horses on behalf of clients.
The horses and ponies bred at Nitro Equine since 2013 are a testament to their dedication, love, and dreams. They go on to become beloved kids ponies, reliable performance ponies, trustworthy mum's horses, and successful sport horses. Some horses are retained for the breeding programme, while others are kept as riding and competition horses. Nitro Equine also offers horses for sale at various stages, including as weanlings, yearlings, 2-year-olds, or green broke horses.
Nitro Equine recognises that their success would not be possible without the support of their dedicated riders, family members, property owners, and friends who believe in their mission of promoting happiness through doing what you love. In their commitment to providing exceptional horses and services, Nitro Equine welcomes inquiries and can be contacted through the provided contact form on their website.
