Located in the twin cities of Townsville and Thuringowa, Nippon Seibukan Dojo Australia is the official home page of the All Japan Budo Federation – Nippon Seibukan Dojo. As a member of this international martial arts federation, the club is dedicated to promoting and preserving traditional Japanese and Okinawan Budo and bujutsu.
The dojo's mission is to preserve and teach the traditional martial arts of Japan and Okinawa in an environment that is free of intimidation, politics, and distractions. The training style practised at Nippon Seibukan Dojo is Goju-Ryu Karatedo, one of the original four styles established in Okinawa. In addition to Karate, the club also practises Nihon Jujitsu, Toyama Ryu Iaido, Kendo, Seibukan Judo, Ryukyu Kobudo, and Koshiki Karatedo.
Under the guidance of Sensei Michael Creedy, who holds a 7th Degree in Karatedo, Jujitsu, and Dan Grading in Kendo and Judo, training at the dojo is focused on developing both the mind and body. Sensei Creedy was recognised and certified by the Dai Nippon Butokukai, Kyoto Japan in 1997 and has received several prestigious awards and inductions in the martial arts community.
Nippon Seibukan Dojo also emphasises cultural exchange experiences and annually visits Japan for intensive training and learning opportunities. With classes held in the Kelso area of Townsville, the dojo welcomes students of all ages and genders. Whether you are young or old, male or female, everyone is welcome to train at Nippon Seibukan Dojo.
