NGTKD Cowbridge is a reputable martial arts school located in Cowbridge, New Zealand. The school is led by Neil Gimbel, a highly experienced and qualified instructor with a 5th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. Neil holds full instructor, umpire, and referee qualifications from the Taekwondo Association of Great Britain (T. A.

G. B. ) and the British Taekwondo Council (B. T.

C. ). He is also CRB/DBS checked, has full instructor indemnity insurance with the B. T.

C. , and possesses first aid qualifications.

With over 30 years of experience in martial arts training, including Shotokan Karate, Kickboxing, and Taekwondo, Neil also practises and trains in Submission Grappling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, holding the rank of Brown Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. As a former member of the Taekwondo National Team with Wales, Neil has competed in international events such as Fight Nights, European Championships, and World Championships.

At NGTKD Cowbridge, the primary focus is on encouraging children to engage in physical activities, gaining confidence, and learning self-defence. Neil specialises in teaching Taekwondo to children and has adapted the syllabus to make it more accessible for younger students. The Junior Taekwondo Programme, designed for children aged 5 and above, aims to teach valuable life skills, self-defence techniques, sport Taekwondo, boost self-confidence, and improve fitness levels.

To ensure the best instruction possible, classes have a limited number of students, allowing for personalised attention and focus on each child's specific grade. NGTKD Cowbridge provides a pathway for students who wish to pursue martial arts at a local, national, and international level, with organised events throughout the year. The school is a member of the Taekwondo Association of Great Britain, the governing body for Taekwondo in the UK, facilitating development and offering direct access to the Welsh Taekwondo National Team squad training.
