We are excited to announce that we have added a new Primary Class to our schedule. This class is designed for children aged 5-7 who are eager to start their dance journey. In this class, students will learn the foundation of ballet and tap techniques, focusing on coordination, musicality, and expression. We believe that starting dance at a young age helps develop discipline, confidence, and a love for the art form.
We can't wait to see our new dancers flourish!
In other news, our students have recently had the incredible opportunity to perform with professional ballet companies, work on television dramas, and participate in numerous professional musical theatre productions. We are immensely proud of their accomplishments and proud to have played a part in their success. It is a testament to the quality training and mentorship that we provide at Newbiggin Dance Academy.
We also want to highlight some of the notable productions that our students have been a part of. Our young performers have had the privilege of appearing in TV films such as Catherine Cookson's “15 Streets” and “Black Velvet Gown. ” They have also worked on the Granada Television serial “Lost Empires,” alongside the legendary Sir Laurence Olivier. It's truly remarkable to think that our students have shared the screen with such esteemed actors.
Additionally, our students have taken part in touring productions of popular shows like “Annie,” “Evita,” “Joseph,” “7 Brides for 7 Brothers,” and “The Sound of Music. ” They have also had the opportunity to perform in pantomimes at Newcastle Theatre Royal and Sunderland Empire, as well as with the prestigious Festival Ballet (later known as the English National Ballet).

We are proud recipients of the Theatre Dance Council International Certificate of Merit, which reflects our commitment to excellence. Our highly qualified and motivated teachers provide individual coaching in ballet, tap/stage, modern jazz, and theatre studies. We believe in customising lessons to meet each student's needs and allowing them to progress at their own pace.
