Shotokan Karate classes at the NKA are open to students as young as 5 years old. There are numerous benefits to practising Shotokan Karate, including self-development, self-fitness, self-confidence, and self-defence. The classes are designed to challenge both the body and the mind, helping students grow physically and mentally.
The NKA has a comprehensive training schedule to accommodate students of all levels. Junior and beginner classes are held on Tuesdays at Ponteland Leisure Centre from 5-6pm. Additionally, the Saturday Junior/Beginners class has been extended by 30 minutes and now runs from 11:00am to 12:30pm. These classes provide a great opportunity for beginners to learn the fundamentals of Shotokan Karate in a safe and supportive environment.
The NKA is especially thrilled to welcome guest instructor Tony Chin Sensei to the club. With extensive experience and knowledge in Karate, Tony Sensei is a familiar face to many Karateka across the UK. His achievements include HDKI Veterans Kata Champion, JSKA European Silver Medallist in Kata and Kumite, WUKF World Silver Medallist in Kata, and KUGB Northern Region Vets Kumite Champion. Tony Sensei's visit will undoubtedly be a valuable learning experience for all members of the NKA.
