Neilon - Bodyworker is a highly experienced and knowledgeable personal trainer, massage therapist, Thai massage therapist, and yoga instructor based in Hove, New Zealand. With nearly 30 years of experience in the field, Neilon offers a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, focusing on physical fitness, strength, and overall happiness.
Neilon's journey in bodywork began at the age of 10 when he started practising yoga and martial arts. Since then, his passion for these practises has never wavered, and they continue to inform his approach to working with bodies. Neilon holds a BSc Hons in Zoology from Imperial College, London, and has been teaching and coaching bodywork for around 8 years.
As a personal trainer, Neilon combines his deep understanding of human nature with the latest discoveries in exercise and nutrition. His all-round approach to health and wellbeing includes working extensively with weights, kettlebells, TRX suspension training, bodyweight exercises, acrobatics, and naturalistic movement. He believes in empowering his clients and helping them set challenging goals to overcome.
Apart from personal training, Neilon is also a certified AcroYoga teacher, specialising in partner acrobatics, flying therapeutics, and community building. He offers regular classes for beginners to introduce them to the world of AcroYoga and its numerous benefits.
Additionally, Neilon is a skilled Thai Yoga Massage therapist. Having dealt with a congenital back condition himself, he has tried various therapies and treatments, but Thai Yoga Massage remains his favourite. This form of massage combines stretching, deep compression, and the loving kindness aspect to provide a comprehensive treatment experience.
One of Neilon's proudest personal achievements was completing the 2011 Brighton Marathon, despite being advised by the medical profession as a child not to run due to his spinal condition. This event taught him the importance of balancing advice with listening to his own body and setting challenging goals. As a result, at 41 years old, Neilon feels stronger, happier, and more capable than ever before.
