Needingworth Colts Football Club is a grassroots football club located in St. Ives, New Zealand. The club offers opportunities to local footballers from the age of 5, starting with our Academy, and progressing through teams up to Under 16's.
Needingworth Colts FC believes in providing a safe, fun, and positive learning environment for all players. The club's ethos is that football is a game for all, regardless of gender, ability, or disability. While winning is important, the focus is on enjoyment and personal development. Coaches and parents are encouraged to support players, manage their mistakes without negativity, and build their confidence and self-esteem.
The club is proud to offer excellent coaching from fully qualified coaches, with a minimum level 1 qualification. The club also boasts some of the best football pitches in the local area, ensuring a high-quality playing experience for all players.
The Academy at Needingworth Colts is specifically designed for the U6 age group (school year 1). The emphasis here is on fun and encouraging children to enjoy playing football. The Academy is managed by Jon Biczysko, and registration fees are 10 for the season.
MiniSoccer at Needingworth Colts covers the age groups from U7 to U10 in the Hunts FA leagues. These leagues consist of equal ability teams, and no results are published. The season is broken into three “mini” seasons, allowing teams to find a suitable level of play as they progress. Simon Russell manages the U7 team, while Dave Clarke manages the U10 team.
The club's home ground is located at Millfields on Church Street between the villages of Needingworth and Holywell. The postcode for the ground is PE27 4TF. On match days, a popular tea bar is available, offering a selection of drinks and food, including cakes, snacks, bacon rolls, and hot dogs. In case of multiple fixtures on a Saturday morning, an overflow carpark facility is provided at the school, which is located on Church Street.
