Nature School Weekdays, brought to you by Nature Library and The Nest Waihi Beach, is an incredible learning experience for children aged 5-12. Whether you're a homeschooler or looking for an alternative to mainstream school for a day, this is the perfect opportunity for your child.
At Nature School, we believe in being curious, creative, caring, and collaborative. Through a variety of activities and adventures, children have the chance to investigate, discuss, create, take notes, draw, and explore nature. Each session builds on the next, so we encourage children to join us for the full 8-week term to fully benefit from the program.
Our main location is at The Nest, where your child will have the opportunity to explore the forest, learn about the cycles of nature, grow their own food, and discover the meaningful connections between themselves and the natural world. On other days, we may take them to nearby natural areas like the beach or a nature reserve for even more exploration and discovery.
By attending Nature School, your child will not only gain knowledge and appreciation for nature, but also build confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of wonder. Alongside experienced and qualified teachers, they'll make new friends and have a lot of fun throughout their nature journey.
To ensure a personalised and supportive experience, we keep our groups small. The cost is just $75 per child per day or $600 per term, with the option to pay weekly. We highly recommend that children attend for the full 8-week term to maximise their learning and growth.
