Join yoga-tastic for a nourishing weekend of soulful vinyasa, conscious breathing, and deep relaxation at an eco-friendly paradise in rural Norfolk. The retreat will take place from May 17th to May 19th, 2024, just one and a half hours from London by train. The 22-acre estate is run on renewables and organic principles, home to every type of tree and shrub indigenous to the UK. The floating water meadows on the estate are a 'Site of Special Scientific Interest' due to their ecological significance, including the restoration of a rare chalk stream and surrounding wildlands. Participants will have the chance to practice yoga, swim in the natural filtered swimming pool, enjoy wild swimming or rowing in the lake, and relax in the sanctuary garden. Plus, Holkham beach is only a 30-minute drive away for those who want to explore the stunning coastline.
The weekend retreat includes four yoga sessions – two dynamic Surya (sun) morning sessions and two gentle Chandra (lunar) evening sessions. Friday's session will focus on gentle movement, restorative yoga, pranayama, and meditation to help participants feel grounded and relaxed. Saturday morning brings a dynamic vinyasa flow to energise for the day, while evening practice revolves around somatic movement, restorative yoga, and guided relaxation. Sunday features an uplifting practice before brunch. The fully equipped yoga studio provides mats, blocks, and bolsters for a comfortable and recharging experience.
Participants will receive delicious vegetarian meals throughout the retreat to nourish and soothe the body. Accommodation options include elegant rooms in the barn courtyard or wooden cabins among the trees, all with private bathrooms for comfort and privacy. The courtyard barn includes a dining area, living room, yoga studio, and ten bedrooms, offering twin/double rooms or single occupancy options. Wooden cabins scattered across the estate provide a peaceful escape, featuring double beds, en-suite bathrooms, and central heating for single or couple occupancy.
The retreat schedule begins with gentle yoga on Friday at 4 pm, followed by dinner at 8 pm. Saturday starts with a dynamic morning session and brunch, followed by a gentle evening session and dinner.
