Dedication, and passion are the key ingredients to success in the world of dance. As the owner and principal of Natalie White School of Dance, Natalie White is committed to providing a friendly, fun, and professional environment for dancers of all ages and abilities to thrive.
With two branches located in Whitchurch Village and Stockwood, Bristol, Natalie White School of Dance offers a wide range of classes in ISTD Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, and Contemporary. The school welcomes dancers as young as 2. 5 years old, allowing them to explore their artistic potential from a young age.
The school follows the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) syllabus for Ballet, offering examinations at graded and vocational levels starting from 5 years old. Ballet at Natalie White School of Dance encourages discipline, poise, and confidence, serving as the foundation for all other dance styles taught at the school.
Tap dance, popularised throughout the world, is another genre offered at the school. With a focus on rhythm and musicality, tap dance allows children to embrace their natural abilities and express themselves through movement. The school follows the ISTD syllabus for Tap and offers examinations throughout the grades and vocational levels.
Natalie White School of Dance also places importance on modern dance, an energetic, and dynamic dance style originating in America. Travelling steps, high kicks, leaps, and turns are all incorporated into this style, requiring strength and flexibility. It is a style commonly seen on the West End stage and is a favourite among many dancers.
Contemporary dance, which stems from the core of the body, is another prominent style offered at the school. Focusing on elements of contract, release, spiral, floor work, fall and recovery, and improvisation, contemporary dance has become one of the dominant genres in the dance world. The ISTD syllabus is followed for contemporary dance, with examinations offered at the vocational level.
Natalie White, the owner and principal of the school, has had a lifelong passion for dance. Starting ballet at the age of four, she later expanded her skills to include tap, modern, and jazz. Competing in regional competitions and participating in live shows, Natalie recognised the transformative power of dance in developing personal confidence and skills.
After completing her education at Bristol College of Dance and obtaining her DDE qualifications in Ballet, Tap, and Modern, Natalie gained valuable experience in choreography and performance. She even made it to the final ten for the BBC Andrew Lloyd Webber's “Somewhere over the Rainbow” in 2010, solidifying her understanding of the industry from a professional perspective.
Natalie's journey continued as she joined Justine Garner School of Dance and eventually became the Dance Director. In July 2016, Natalie was thrilled to take over the school, fulfilling her dreams of owning her own dance school. Through her experiences and beliefs in hard work, dedication, and passion, Natalie aims to inspire and nurture young dancers at Natalie White School of Dance.
