Welcome to Nailsea LeRoc Dance Class in Bristol! Nailsea LeRoc offers modern jive dance classes and dance nights, where you can exercise, socialise, and build confidence. LeRoc, which is French for rock and roll, refers to a stylish and modern form of jive that can be danced to virtually any music.
Our classes take place at The Scotch Horn in Nailsea, with beginners lessons starting at 7:30 pm every Thursday. You do not need to book in advance or come with a partner. During the lesson, you will have the opportunity to dance with more experienced dancers, helping you improve your skills. After the lesson, beginners are taken to a separate space for the chance to practise the moves they learned, plus one extra.
For those with experience or those ready to move on from the beginners class, we offer intermediate lessons. These include a more intensive set of moves to further enhance your dance skills.
Once a month, we hold freestyle dances in Clevedon, open to beginners, intermediates, and dancers from other classes. All are welcome to attend, whether you come alone, with a partner, or with friends. At Nailsea LeRoc, our aim is to create a friendly and inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.
Dance is not only a fun way to socialise but also an excellent form of exercise. Our passionate and experienced teachers, Diana Bath and Tom, have been running dance classes in Nailsea for over 20 years. Diana is a fully qualified dance and fitness instructor and a member of the Jive Federation and UKA. She started dancing LeRoc in the early '90s and began teaching in Bristol in 1993. Diana established Nailsea LeRoc in 2003, which has since grown and become a well-established class.
Tom has been dancing since the mid-90s and brings his wicked sense of humour and personality to the lessons. Additionally, Herb supports the beginners' class while the intermediates are being taught, creating a conducive learning environment.
