Nagashi Shukokai Karate is a renowned martial arts school located in Leigh, Lancashire. Situated at the Leigh South Community Centre on Hope Carr Road, our school is dedicated to providing high-quality karate and self-defence education to individuals of all ages and fitness levels.

Led by Sensei Derek Willoughby, a highly experienced 7th Dan black belt, students have the unique opportunity to learn from one of the best in the field. Sensei Derek is committed to creating an inclusive and safe training environment, ensuring that students are able to improve their confidence, strength, fitness, and self-defence skills.

At Nagashi Shukokai Karate, we adhere to traditional Dojo etiquette, emphasising discipline, respect, and the development of mental and physical balance. Our comprehensive grading syllabus allows students to progress through various belt ranks as they continuously improve their technique, knowledge, and abilities.

We offer a range of classes suited for different age groups and skill levels, catering to both beginners and advanced practitioners. Whether you're a complete novice or an experienced martial artist, our classes provide a focused and rewarding learning experience.

To participate in our classes, students are required to obtain a karate licence. This licence serves as an official confirmation of membership within Nagashi Shukokai Karate and the associated organisation. With the licence, students gain access to member-to-member and public liability insurance, ensuring their safety and protection.

Youth under six years old, unfortunately, cannot be accepted as members due to insurance limitations. However, for individuals above that age, Nagashi Shukokai Karate offers an experience they will never forget. Our instructors are DBS checked and approved, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all participants.
