At Mount Pleasant Yacht Club, we have a diverse fleet that includes lasers, sunbursts, optimists, and p class dinghies. Our club racing takes place regularly on weekends from September to April, providing plenty of opportunities for members to test their skills and enjoy the thrill of competitive sailing.
One of our core offerings is our Learn to Sail programme, which caters to both junior and adult sailors. Whether you're a beginner or looking to improve your existing skills, our qualified coaches are here to guide you every step of the way. We also have a coaching programme for advanced learners, ensuring that sailors of all abilities can continuously develop and refine their techniques.
In addition to our on-water activities, we take great pride in our state-of-the-art clubhouse. Situated just over the Ferrymead Bridge towards Sumner, our recently constructed boat shed offers a modern, spacious facility that will serve the club for many years to come. With numerous ramps and wide shallows, Mount Pleasant Yacht Club provides the easiest launching and retrieving experience in Canterbury.
As part of our commitment to fostering a strong sailing community, we collaborate with the Christchurch and Pleasant Point clubs to host the Estuary Club series. This allows our members to compete alongside sailors from neighbouring clubs, creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere that celebrates the sport of sailing.
