If you plan on hiking to Mount Hay summit, you will need to leave your bike at the carpark and bring a bike chain and lock, as well as suitable walking shoes.
The ride itself is relatively easy, with a few steep sections. As you make your way through the sandstone plateau, the light philtres through the canopy of scribbly gums, providing a serene atmosphere. Keep an eye out for the unique giant dragonfly that is exclusive to this area.
