Join Melbourne Women's Walking Club for the upcoming Mordialloc-Braeside Park Day Walk on Saturday, June 29, 2024. This 16km urban walk promises a delightful journey through the scenic landscapes of the Melbourne Sandbelt region. Starting at Mordialloc Creek Trail, participants will follow a picturesque route to Waterways, where a serene walk on the Island awaits before reaching a charming lakeside breakfast spot (coffee lovers, rejoice!). The adventure continues through Braeside Park, a conservation reserve brimming with diverse flora and fauna, including bird-filled wetlands and iconic landmarks like Phar Lap’s training track. Don't miss the avenue of cypress trees adorned with artistic animal sculptures!
After a rejuvenating break in the wetlands for morning tea or an early lunch, walkers will make their way back to the starting point by 1pm, leaving the afternoon free for further exploration. The well-formed gravel paths offer a flat terrain suitable for all levels of walkers, but don't forget to bring sun protection for some exposed trail sections.
Come and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Melbourne's Sandbelt region with Melbourne Women's Walking Club on this memorable day walk. See you there!
