Western Springs Association Football Club is excited to host the Mini Football Mixed Social event for young players aged 9 and 10 years. This event focuses on honing skills and promoting teamwork in a fun and safe environment. Players can choose between the Social or Academy pathway, with the flexibility to switch pathways each season based on their preference.
Registration is now open for both male and female players, with the option for female participants to either join mixed-gender teams or girls-only teams, depending on availability. Female players who excel can also request to play in a mixed-grade category lower than their age group. Teams will be formed post-registration and will receive a kit bag containing essential equipment for the season, such as balls, cones, and bibs.
Teams have the option to schedule training sessions during the week and can secure turf training space as needed. The in-house mixed teams under the Social pathway will play at Seddon Fields on Sundays starting from May 5, 2024, to September 22, 2024. The game schedule is based on birth year, with 9th Grade for 2015 birth year participants and 10th Grade for 2014 birth year children.
Coaches play a crucial role in supporting player development and fostering positive team dynamics. They are encouraged to complete a Junior Coaching Course to enhance their coaching skills. The weekly game schedule will be available on the club's website and App in advance, with field usage arrangements at Walker Park and Cox Bay for training sessions.
