Monique's journey into the world of health and wellness began over 10 years ago when she discovered the profound effects of yoga and meditation on her own well-being. With degrees in Adult Education and Social/Behavioural Sciences, she has continued her studies and explorations in Yoga, Pilates, and Mindfulness practices. Monique's dedication and passion led her to become a certified MBSR teacher and trainer, specialising in Trauma Sensitive Mindful Movement.
Since founding Studio Synergy Yoga and Pilates in 2012, Monique has been sharing her love for movement and mindfulness with the community. She has completed over 1500 hours of professional studies with acclaimed teachers from around the world, enriching her teaching expertise. Monique's personal journey with stress and busy lifestyles led her to explore meditation techniques specifically designed to address these issues. After attending the 8-week MBSR course in 2015 and deepening her practice, she decided to become an MBSR teacher herself, offering the transformative 8-week course to her community.
Monique firmly believes that movement and mindfulness are powerful self-healing tools and attributes her own health and wellness to these practices. Having overcome trauma and achieved a healthy balance in her diet, lifestyle, and movement routines, she understands firsthand the benefits of these practices on emotional and physical well-being.
