About

Mimi Kuo-Deemer is a highly experienced and knowledgeable yoga instructor based in London, specialising in Buddhist meditation, qigong, and internal martial arts. With a 6th generation Baguazhang background, Mimi brings a unique and authentic perspective to her teaching.

Mimi offers two free qigong courses for individuals of all ages and abilities. The first course, “The 18 Forms Qigong,” is a six-day exploration of a classic qigong sequence. By practising the 18 Forms, participants can improve their posture, muscle tone, and range of movement without putting stress on their joints. This course supports vitality in the body, calmness, and creativity in the mind, and transformational breathing.

The second free course, “The 8 Brocades Qigong,” is a five-day programme that teaches the traditional qigong sequence alongside essential qigong philosophy. By practising the eight silken forms of the Eight Brocades, participants can balance their vital energy, align with the natural world, and support their body's organs and meridian systems. This course promotes a grounded, centred, and healthy lifestyle.

In addition to her free courses, Mimi offers livestream workshops and self-paced courses. One of her upcoming workshops, “Suppleness and Softness,” will take place online via Sangha Live on January 20, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm GMT. She also has a special workshop called “Year of the Dragon Qigong Workshop” on February 3, 2024, which will be held online via Zoom.

Mimi has also created DVDs and online qigong video programmes that cover various topics such as qigong seasons, qigong basics and flow, and qigong for health and wellness. These programmes are available on platforms like Amazon, Vimeo, and YogaandFitness. Tv.

Mimi is praised for her teaching style, which conveys profound practises in a simple and inviting manner. Her ability to make complex teachings accessible has earned her a dedicated following. Many of her students have come away with an embodied sense of what qigong can be.

Mimi is also the author of the book “Qigong and the Tai Chi Axis,” which explores the connexion between the five elements and seasons of qigong and their impact on health, lifestyle, and state of mind. The book has received high praise from readers and experts in the field.

To stay connected with Mimi and receive updates on her classes and workshops, individuals can follow her on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Mimi emphasises the importance of self-care, stating that when we take care of ourselves, we take care of the world because we are nature manifested in human form.
