Are you the owner of Mid Cornwall Divers?

John, the organiser of Mid-Cornwall Divers, has put together an exciting lineup of activities for the diving community throughout the year. Established back in 1976 and nestled in St Austell, Cornwall, this diving club is part of the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) and offers something for everyone, from beginners to experienced divers.
Every Wednesday evening, members gather at The White Pyramid in Trewoon for a mix of club meetings and socialising. One of the highlights of the year is the annual Kernow Festival in Penzance. It’s a fantastic weekend where divers from all over Cornwall, Devon, and beyond come together for exciting dives. There’s also a barbecue, hosted by different clubs each year, with fundraising for the Diving Disease Research Centre (DDRC) in Plymouth—a great cause that supports the diving community.
John mentions that Mid-Cornwall Divers cater to all levels of diving qualifications. They offer Try Dives at St Austell Leisure Centre, perfect for those new to the sport. An instructor will walk participants through the basics and then provide a pool diving experience. No need to worry about gear; the club provides everything. Just bring swimming shorts, a rash vest or T-shirt, and a towel. At the end of the session, participants receive a BSAC Try Dive certificate.
For those looking to advance their skills, John and his team offer various training courses, from Ocean Diver to Advanced Diver. They’ve got a bunch of experienced instructors ready to provide specialised training, covering areas like Boat Handling, Radio, Diver Cox, and Rebreather training.
Members have plenty of diving opportunities around St Austell Bay, the north coast, and other stunning spots like Penzance and Sennen Cove. With dives happening every weekend, members are in for a treat, both in honing their skills and exploring the beautiful dive sites.
John encourages anyone interested to get in touch via email at midcornwalldivers2022@gmail.com for more details on the diving programmes. The club is proud of its top-notch BSAC training, backed by years of experience, ensuring you’ll walk away with an internationally recognised diving qualification by the end.

John and the club are keen to welcome new members, whether you’re a novice or a seasoned diver. Join Mid-Cornwall Divers for an unforgettable diving experience and the chance to be part of an amazing community of divers. They can’t wait to hear from you!
