Mays Performing Arts is a leading dance school, art school, ballet school, and performing arts group located in Norwich, New Zealand. Founded by Principal Harriet May in 2019, the school aims to provide high-standard training in Dance, Theatre, and Music, while fostering a fun, caring, and nurturing environment for all students.
At Mays Performing Arts, students can participate in a wide range of classes including Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Pop & Street, Singing, Strengthening and Conditioning, as well as Summer UK Tours. The school offers comprehensive training in various dance styles and disciplines, allowing students to explore and develop their artistic skills and creativity.

Leading the team at Mays Performing Arts is Principal Harriet May, a professional dancer with extensive experience in performing arts. Harriet attended vocational training at Italia Conti and has since danced extensively in the UK and overseas. Her professional career includes performing with Fleur East from X-Factor, dancing on cruise ships, filming for Illamasqua Cosmetics, touring England in tap companies, tap dancing on “The One Show,” and dancing in Pixie Lott's music video “Nasty. ” Harriet holds several qualifications in dance, teaching, first aid, and fitness instruction, and her aim is to provide the students with the best tuition and guidance possible, inspiring confidence and creativity.
Emily Moore, Head of Singing at Mays Performing Arts, is a professional singer, dancer, and actress. Emily has worked as a lead singer on cruise ships for three years and has gained valuable knowledge, confidence, and discipline throughout her career. She graduated from Bodywork Company Dance Studios and has performed as a lead vocalist with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and Holland America Line. Emily is passionate about sharing her experiences and passion for singing with the students at Mays Performing Arts.
Rosie Watts, Head of Ballet, always had a passion for teaching ballet and studied for her degree with the Royal Academy of Dance. She graduated in 2020 with a BA (Hons) in Dance Education and also trained in the Imperial Classical Ballet at Bird College. Rosie aims to inspire a love of learning ballet and an appreciation for the dance form among her students. She continuously trains in progressing ballet technique to provide effective conditioning and training methods for her students.
