Clients can meet Alys at her practise located at 42 Underwood Road, New South Wales, 2140. She is available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and some Saturdays. Alys acknowledges that her business is located on Wangal land and pays her respects to the Wangal elders, past, present, and emerging.
Alys McLennan, the founder of MayaKosha Healing, has an impressive background in psychology, social health and counselling, social work, and yoga therapy. With over a decade of experience in the trauma industry, Alys has worked in various roles across hospitals, NGOs, and private practises, gaining valuable expertise in clinical therapy, supervision, training, and managerial positions.
Alys is committed to promoting best practise and client-centred wellbeing. She currently facilitates a trauma-specific private therapy collective space, serves as a board member for Clan MacLennan Committee, works as a therapist for Willowtree EAP, and teaches Master of Counselling students at Edith Cowen University in Western Australia. Alys has also collaborated with Ashley Gobeil of Ashley Child Therapies to establish the Immrama Holistic Trauma Healing Centre, which offers therapeutic and self-care services.
At MayaKosha Healing, Alys is passionate about helping individuals move away from stress, depletion, and trauma activation and tap into their inner resources, leaving them feeling centred and empowered. Her extensive experience allows her to provide a multi-layered perspective on client healing and practitioner support, from acute crises to long-term therapeutic interventions.
Alys McLennan's expertise in trauma care is recognised within the industry. She has developed therapeutic group programmes for children and young people, and her programmes were commended by judges at the Mental Health Awards in 2020. Alys has also been a finalist for the Griffith Alumni Awards in 2022 and the Australian Ladies in Business Initiative Awards in 2023. She is registered with NSW Victims Services, the Australian Association of Social Work, and Yoga Australia.
