The instructors at Martlesham Karate Club are highly qualified and experienced in teaching karate. Sensei Bill Williams, 5th Dan, leads the club and has over 40 years of karate experience. He is dedicated to helping club members achieve their goals and reach their black belts. Sensei Gerry Turner, 5th Dan, is another senior lead instructor who is technically proficient at all levels of karate.
Chris Stott, 1st Dan, specialises in kata and kumite and also serves as the club's child protection and safeguarding officer. Matt Standring, 1st Dan, is a fitness instructor and leads Thursday sessions in Kesgrave. Alex McKay, 1st Dan, is a new instructor who has been with the club for many years. Steve Holland, 1st Kyu, is another lead instructor who is also involved in the club committee and IT support.
Kasia Lewandowska, 1st Kyu, is the Red Dragons instructor and also serves as the club's DBS officer.
Classes at Martlesham Karate Club are held on most days of the week at various locations in Suffolk, including Ipswich, Kesgrave, and Claydon. The club offers a range of classes to cater to different age groups and skill levels. Red Dragons classes are specifically designed for younger children and focus on fun and basic karate techniques. These classes typically last 30 minutes.
