Marist Harewood Cricket Club

Marist Harewood Cricket Club, formerly known as Harewood Cricket Club and Marist Cricket Club, is a prominent cricket club based in Christchurch, New Zealand. The club was originally formed in 1905 as Harewood Cricket Club and then in 1948, Marist Cricket Club was established. In 2008, these two clubs merged to create Marist-Harewood Cricket Club (MHCC).

MHCC boasts a strong presence in both the senior and junior ranks. The club has one of the largest senior sections in Christchurch and is an affiliated member of the Christchurch Metro Cricket Association. With numerous successes achieved in all grades and a strong club and team culture, MHCC provides a supportive and competitive environment for senior players.

In terms of junior cricket, MHCC caters to children from Pre-School up to Intermediate age. Whether your child wishes to play cricket for fun or desires a more competitive experience, Marist Harewood is the perfect place for them. The club prides itself on being a community-focused club and welcomes individuals who are eager to be part of the Marist Harewood family.

Registration for both junior and senior players is now open for the upcoming season. The club utilises various grounds, including Redwood Park on Sturrocks Road, Tullett Park, St James Park, and Sheldon Park. These locations provide excellent facilities for matches and training sessions.

Marist Harewood Cricket Club encourages all members and their families to stay updated with the latest news and updates through their social media channels and website. The club also holds an annual Junior AGM meeting, which provides an opportunity for members to connect, discuss important matters, and kick-off the season.

Juniors are an integral part of MHCC, and the club is proud to be affiliated with the Canterbury Junior Cricket Association (CJCA). The junior section attracts over 160 players who compete in 17 teams, showcasing their skills on Saturdays. MHCC follows the NZC Age & Stage format for junior cricket, which has been implemented in collaboration with CJCA.
