The 18-hole, 6602-yard, SSS 72 parkland course features a traditional links layout. Designed by Willie Park Jr. , teeing up at the first hole puts you just yards away from the famous Elizabethan walls. As you progress through the course, you'll be treated to beautiful panoramic views, with the signature par three eighth hole offering a breathtaking view of the cliffs leading into Scotland.

The back nine provides an equally stunning view of the Northumberland coast, with Bamburgh and Holy Island castles clearly visible.

One of the most notable holes on the course is the sixteenth, aptly named “the destroyer. ” It is a blind drive hole located just yards away from the shelter made famous in a painting by L. S. Lowry.
