Established in 1905, this historic club has been a central hub for sports and recreation, initially featuring bowls, lawn tennis, and golf. While the golf club has since branched out independently, both clubs proudly share a common heritage.
đź“Ť Situated at 735 Durham Road, the club offers a meticulously maintained green, operational since its inaugural game in April 1906. Jane Smith and her dedicated team ensure that the greens remain in top condition, providing an optimal playing surface for members. The club also offers coaching from qualified professionals, helping newcomers master the game and make the most of the equipment.
Lyndhurst Bowling Club is committed to the future of the sport, aiming to bolster its youth section over the next two years. Jane’s vision includes creating an inclusive environment where people of all ages, abilities, and genders can enjoy bowls, fostering a balanced membership profile.
The sport of bowls offers substantial physical and social benefits. Players stay active, improve their fitness, and make new friendships. Bowls is a lifelong sport, challenging and enjoyable at any age. A typical game involves significant physical activity, including bending over 40 times, walking roughly 1260 metres, and making over 40 arm swings to deliver a 3lb bowl – ensuring players are engaged and active.
As the new season kicks off in April, Jane Smith extends a warm invitation to both seasoned players and complete beginners. She promises a welcoming environment enriched by the club’s storied past, quality facilities, and dedicated coaching.
If you’re keen to join Lyndhurst Bowling Club, explore membership options today. Full membership is £100 with a £5 key deposit for new members. Associated membership is available at £15, junior membership at £12, and membership for 15-18-year-olds at £16. There is also an optional parking fee of £7.50 per annum.
