Lynda Davies Yoga is a welcoming and inclusive yoga studio located in Maple Ridge. The studio is founded and run by Lynda Davies, a trauma-informed Certified Yoga Therapist who is passionate about safety, inclusivity, and accessibility in yoga practice. Lynda believes that yoga is a healing practice that should be accessible to everyone, especially those who have experienced trauma in their lives.
Lynda's journey with yoga began with a curiosity around the physical aspects of the practice, but she soon discovered that the true rewards came in the form of mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. After experiencing a yoga class designed for those with anxiety and depression, led with a trauma-informed approach, Lynda felt a shift within herself. She felt comfortable and safe in a way she never had before, and she knew that she wanted to offer that same experience to others who may have also experienced trauma.
As the Director of Therapeutic Yoga Programming at the Red Fish Healing Centre for Mental Health & Addictions, Lynda has welcomed hundreds of participants from all walks of life, helping them find a healthier way of being through yoga in a safe and non-judgmental environment. She believes that feeling safe allows the nervous system to settle, opening up the opportunity for mindfulness and new experiences to be welcomed and effortless.
At Lynda Davies Yoga, every class and private session is an opportunity for growth and learning for both Lynda and her students. She meets each individual "where they're at," offering modifications and props to assist and support them on their journey towards a fuller, healthier, and more peaceful state of being. The studio offers Chair Yoga for those who require the support of a chair, making yoga accessible to all, regardless of physical or emotional challenges.
Lynda teaches her students to listen to their bodies, minds, and intuition, allowing them to tune inward and find their inner peace. Through a trauma-informed approach, she aims to help others learn how to self-regulate through times of distress, providing them with the tools to experience joy and flow in their lives.
Lynda Davies Yoga is a soft place to land, a safe and accepting space where everyone is welcome. The studio believes that yoga is for every body and mind, and it should not be intimidating or judgmental. Instead, it should be a practice that allows individuals to connect with themselves and find peace within. Join Lynda at her studio in Maple Ridge and embark on a journey towards healing and well-being through the practice of yoga.
