Welcome to London Football Journeys, a charity based in London that is dedicated to connecting communities and empowering young people to become leaders. Our mission is to bring young people from different communities together, providing them with opportunities to share new experiences, find common ground, and overcome stereotypes.
At London Football Journeys, we believe in the power of experiential learning. Through our programmes and initiatives, we give participants the chance to discover and gain new skills and networks, all while encouraging them to venture beyond their comfort zones. By providing a platform for young people to engage with one another in a structured and supportive environment, we aim to break down stereotypes and foster understanding and empathy among participants.
Since 2012, London Football Journeys has been tackling mistrust and stereotypes head-on. Our approach involves taking participants to different areas, where they can build positive links with their peers from diverse backgrounds. We firmly believe that meaningful interaction is key in changing perceptions, and that when young people have the opportunity to connect with others who are different from them, they are more likely to view different groups positively. By breaking down barriers and fostering positive relationships, we strive to build a stronger and more connected society.
The impact of our work is tangible and measurable. Our proven model has successfully built connexions between diverse communities and supported young people in developing leadership skills. By collecting baseline data and feedback from young people, youth practitioners, and teachers, we have gained valuable insights into the transformative power of our programmes.
