Lockskinners Equestrian Training Centre

Lockskinners Equestrian Training Centre, located in Edenbridge, is a horse riding school that offers a wide range of training facilities and activities for riders of all abilities and disciplines. The centre is designed to promote confidence building for both horse and rider, creating partnerships that lead to a better riding experience.

The training centre is open year-round and is situated in the heart of the picturesque Kent countryside. The main training facility, known as “West,” features an all-weather floodlit 60×30m arena. Adjacent to the arena is a 1 km canter track, half of which is all-weather and includes water splash, steps, and jumps. The other half is a grass track that is open during the dry months.

West also includes a round pen for horsemanship and lunging, making it a versatile and valuable resource for riders.

In addition to West, the centre boasts two professionally built cross country courses, named “North” and “South. ” These courses are set in 160 acres of lush pasture and woodlands and feature over 300 fences ranging in height from 30 cm to 135 cm. North and South are open from March to October, weather permitting, and offer a challenging and rewarding experience for riders looking to test their skills over varied terrain. The obstacle pen and challenge zone, which are integrated within the XC courses, provide additional opportunities for riders to improve their technique and confidence.

For riders interested in eventing, the centre offers a combination training field equipped with a 20×40m dressage area, a wooden show jumping course, and a working hunter course. These facilities are specifically designed for one-day event training, allowing riders to practise all aspects of the sport in a controlled and supportive environment.

All the training facilities at Lockskinners Equestrian Training Centre are available for hire, whether for schooling sessions, private events, or clinics. The centre prides itself on providing top-notch facilities that cater to the needs of riders across various disciplines and skill levels.

Lockskinners also offers Lockskinners West, an all-weather arena and track that is dedicated to arena eventing. This facility features a 60×30m all-weather floodlit arena with an adjoining canter track that includes jumps, steps, and a water splash. Riders can enjoy cross country training on this track throughout the year. The course is changed monthly and harrowed daily to ensure optimal conditions.

Riders are required to pick up any droppings before leaving the arena to maintain cleanliness and safety.
