swimming needs. The assessment revealed that the pool required significant repairs and upgrades to ensure the safety and longevity of the facility. As a result, the difficult decision was made to permanently close Lions Pool in 2023.
Although Lions Pool is no longer operational, the City of Woodstock continues to offer a variety of aquatic programs at other facilities. The Southside Aquatic Centre, located at 315 Finkle Street, is a popular choice for residents and visitors alike. This facility features an "L" shaped 25m six-lane section, a 10m by 10m deep end with a diving board, pool lift, and sauna. There are also three change-rooms for men and women, as well as a meeting room and viewing area upstairs.
The Southside Aquatic Centre offers a range of programs, including swim lessons, recreational swimming, aqua fitness, and more.
