Lichfield Running Club is a thriving sports club located in Lichfield, NZ. Founded in 1983 by Dave Lawton, Dave Nason, Mike Green, and Dave Lewis, the club has a rich history of running and racing in the local area. Over the past 40 years, Lichfield Running Club has grown to over 150 members who participate in weekly training sessions and regular runs catering to a diverse range of abilities.
The club is known for its active participation in races, with members proudly wearing the iconic yellow Lichfield Running Club vest in both local and national events. To encourage competitive spirit and camaraderie, the club organises its own Grand Prix championship, featuring races ranging from 5 km to half-marathon distances, as well as a Time Trial series and team events.
Lichfield Running Club is open to adult runners aged 18 and above. For younger runners, the club recommends exploring opportunities within the Staffordshire Athletics Network. As a club that welcomes individuals of all abilities, it is recommended that potential members be able to comfortably run 5 miles before joining the main groups. To assist individuals in reaching this level, the club regularly hosts beginner's courses.
