Midland Sailing Club, located in Birmingham, is proud to offer sailing lessons for all those aspiring to become competent sailors. If you're a beginner, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn the ropes and join a community of sailing enthusiasts.
Every week, Midland Sailing Club provides taster sessions that need to be booked in advance. We have two exciting options available for you. Option 1 is the popular RYA Women on the Water session, which takes place every Tuesday evening from 4pm. It's a wonderful chance for women to come together and enjoy the joys of sailing. Option 2 is the Discover Watersports session, held every Thursday evening from 4pm. Here, you can explore the world of sailing alongside other water sports like windsurfing and paddleboarding.

At Midland Sailing Club, we believe in providing high-quality coaching sessions. Our RYA Level 1 course, Start Sailing, is perfect for those who want to learn the basics of sailing. Club members can benefit from regular coaching sessions on Saturdays and other sailing sessions throughout the week. Plus, our members receive a 50% discount on courses and instructor-led training, making it even easier to dive into the world of sailing.
We understand the importance of gaining confidence in boat handling and sailing. That's why we offer coached practice sessions to help you build that essential skill set. Once you've mastered the basics, the next steps in our sailing program are the RYA Level 2 course, Basic Skills, and Level 3, Better Sailing. These courses enable participants to sail confidently on their own, taking their skills to the next level.
For those seeking a greater challenge, our club offers more advanced courses in seamanship skills and power boating. Whether you're an adult or a junior, we have separate courses to accommodate different age groups. Our training runs from March to October, ensuring you have ample opportunities to hit the water.
Worried about equipment? Don't be! Midland Sailing Club provides all the necessary gear, including wetsuits and buoyancy aids. All we ask is for you to come ready to have an unforgettable time on the water.
