In 2021, the club achieved a significant milestone by being accepted into the Southern Counties East Football League Division 1, which is at Step 6 of the non-league pyramid. In their first season in this league, Larkfield & New Hythe Wanderers FC exceeded expectations by finishing third in the league and reaching the playoff final. While they fell short in the final, the club's performance was commendable, especially considering it was their first year at this level.
The following season, 2022/23, the club showed promise once again, consistently competing for the top spot in the league. Although they ended the season in 4th place, they continued to demonstrate their ability and determination. Furthermore, the club had success in the Les Leckie Cup, winning the final against Staplehurst Monarchs United with a score of 3-1.
