Kokoro Martial Arts and Fitness

Kokoro Martial Arts and Fitness is a martial arts school located in South Morang, Victoria. Established in September 2019, Kokoro offers a wide range of classes suitable for all levels from beginners to advanced practitioners. With a vision to promote the concept of linking heart, mind, and spirit, Kokoro strives to develop healthy minds in healthy bodies.

The name Kokoro derives from the Japanese language, where it translates to “heart. ” However, this term encompasses much more than just the physical organ. It represents the connexion between heart, mind, and spirit, which the school aims to cultivate through training and practise. The instructors at Kokoro Martial Arts and Fitness are highly skilled and experienced, with both male and female instructors available to guide students on their martial arts journey.

Kokoro Martial Arts and Fitness proudly affiliates with Chikara Kyokushin International, led by Shihan Judd Reid. Shihan Judd Reid holds a remarkable achievement as the first Westerner to complete the three-year Uchi Deshi Programme, a live-in student programme, with the founder of Kyokushin, Sosai Mas Oyama. This affiliation ensures that students receive authentic and high-quality martial arts training.

The school aims to share its love for martial arts and budo (the “way of the warrior”) with the residents of South Morang and its surrounding areas. Students from South Morang, Doreen, Mernda, Epping, Mill Park, Bundoora, Whittlesea, and Plenty are all welcomed to join the Kokoro Martial Arts and Fitness community.

Kokoro Martial Arts and Fitness operates during convenient hours to accommodate students' busy schedules. Classes are held on Mondays, Wednesdays from 6:15 PM to 9:00 PM, and Saturdays from 11:45 AM to 3:00 PM. The school's address is Unit 16, 33 Danaher Drive, South Morang, 3752.
