Welcome to Knaresborough Forest Cricket Club, a friendly, sociable, and inclusive cricket club located in Knaresborough, New Zealand. We are dedicated to promoting the benefits of playing team sport in the great outdoors and building a strong junior cricket section.
In 2017, our club made a commitment to develop our junior cricket section. We began by participating in the ECB All Stars programme, which is specifically designed for 5-8 year olds. Since then, we have continued to run this programme yearly, allowing us to enter teams in the Nidderdale Junior Cricket League for players under 9, 11, and 13. We are proud to have more than 60 junior members, both boys and girls, across all age groups.
Our Friday evening coaching sessions, led by our team of ECB qualified coaches and assistant coaches, regularly attract over 60 youngsters.
In 2023, our club achieved the ECB's Clubmark accreditation. This accreditation recognises that our club operates in a safe, rewarding, and inclusive manner, ensuring that all welfare policies and checks are carried out regularly. Our coaching staff consists of ECB level 1 & 2 trained coaches, and we are committed to continually expanding our team of trained coaches. All of our volunteers, whether qualified or not, undergo DBS checks, and our qualified volunteers receive First Aid training and have completed a Safeguarding and Safe Hands course.
We also have two dedicated Child Welfare Officers responsible for implementing all welfare policies.
The coaching season at Knaresborough Forest CC begins with our winter nets programme, which runs for eight weeks starting in February. Regular outdoor coaching sessions start in April at our ground at Calcutt, usually taking place on Friday evenings throughout the summer until the end of the school term.
