Marketing and pursued my 200-hour Hatha yoga teacher training. I opened Kismet Yoga Fitness in September 2017. I have never looked back since, I have gone on to do many more training's including Yoga Beat, Stand-Up Paddle Board with Jaclyn Bell and Trauma Informed Yoga through UBC. Furthermore, I have brought many talented, supportive, loving and kind teachers on board since our opening who share their own special magic and keep the studio buzzing with positive vibes.
Besides, I believe in the power of yoga and have witnessed the affect it has on so many individuals walk through Kismet's doors.
Dr. Marcy Kimpton Instructor I am a veteran physiotherapist with over 25-years experience, a registered yoga teacher 200-hour Hatha and Yin. My forte is alignment-based Hatha yoga. I came to yoga after a career-ending injury that prevented me from practising my profession.
I have not looked back since. Furthermore, I have spent the last 5 years pursuing my passion for yoga. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be a yoga instructor, but life has a way of bringing us full circle when we think everything is falling apart. I enjoy guiding my students to a place of safety and support, encouraging their growth not only on the mat but in their daily lives as well.
Sara Gill Instructor My favourite style of yoga is Vinyasa and I love to incorporate core-focused, balance elements. I found yoga during my third pregnancy, I was experiencing back pain and my partner was deployed. It was pure survival mode. I found yoga on YouTube and it saved me.
After she was born and my partner returned we switched roles, and I was able to start attending classes in person. I went on to my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training through Empowered Yoga in June 2015.
Nattalie Anderson Instructor I have been practising yoga for 10 years. I completed my Yoga 200-hour teacher training at Serenity Yoga with Niki Kukadia in May 2017. I have done my Yin Training with Bernie Clark at Semperviva Yoga as well as certified in Pregnancy Yoga. Furthermore, I have always led an active lifestyle.
Yoga brings balance, flexibility, and mindfulness into my life. I am a trained Doula which I find compliments Yoga immensely. I am passionate about helping create a positive birth experience for women. Kismet yoga provides a warm and inviting environment to connect your body and baby during this incredible time of change.
I look forward to helping you find balance in your life too.
Jessica Fisher Instructor My journey into yoga was quite accidental. I had a best friend who always wanted me to try it, but I was convinced it was too slow and boring. One day she borrowed my car and left it in a hot yoga parking lot, and I was forced to go try it in order to get my car back. Well, that was it – from the first class on I was hooked.
With my busy life, it gives me that time to myself that I'm sure so many of you appreciate. I completed my 200-hour Hatha training and continued with prenatal and restorative training. I love teaching all classes, but my absolute favourite is restorative. Furthermore, I truly believe that the power of healing comes from within and by stilling the body we can then still the mind.
Besides, I feel so grateful to have found a place where I can practice and teach what I love – Namaste.
Annie Sidhu Instructor I am classically trained in hot Hatha Yoga. From exploring various yoga studios across the province, I've created my own flow that is designed to create a balance of strength, flexibility, and a sense of inner peace. I have seen the benefits of yoga in my own life, and I am passionate about sharing that with others. I focus on alignment and breath to create a strong safe practice in any style of class.
On and off the mat we will find that connection to ourselves.
Emma Sauve Instructor I moved from Calgary to Abbotsford at the end of 2016. It was challenging to leave Calgary as I had spent my whole life there and built a great community of friends, but I was excited for a new adventure. I found the studio before officially moving here and have been an instructor since August of 2017. My teaching style is a reflection of my practice, dynamic!
Want to challenge yourself mentally and physically? That's my jam! My classes are designed to be beginner-friendly however you will have an opportunity to grow, make mistakes and learn something. On the other hand, my favourite students are the seasoned yogis.
They provide me with an opportunity to dive deeper into the teachings of yoga. Fun Fact: I've been a vegetarian since 2001.
Syrena Barsalou Instructor I have been practising yoga for 4 years now. I completed my YTT200 through High Vibes Yoga in May of 2016 and my YTT300 in July 2019. I have been in the fitness world for about 10 years now, and I have been a personal trainer at a few fitness clubs. Yoga is life to me and I try to live it every day.
Being able to share my passion with others is one of the greatest gifts I can give. My favourite pose changes all the time. I started yoga being turned off by the pose “downward dog” but now it's my go to. I see why it's such a great staple in the practice and can now connect with it on all levels.
Furthermore, I look forward to teaching you or practising next to you!
Irina Poli Instructor Like so many, I came to yoga on the advice of my doctor. I had just gone through a stressful period in my life and my adrenal glands were not functioning as they should. I had symptoms of burnout and chronic fatigue. After a year of practising yoga, my labs showed improvement and 2 years after beginning yoga I was declared “recovered” by my doctor.
I was inspired to go to yoga school. My favourite area of study is pranayama breath work. I love how it produces results in such a short period of time. I am also passionate about introducing Yin and Restorative to as many people as possible.
Danica Domay Instructor Danica Domay is a certified 200-hour Hatha Vinyasa teacher exploring yoga through movement, breath, and meditation since 2016. Her wish is to inspire others to have a deeper understanding of their bodies and minds. With infectious energy and playfulness, she teaches classes catered to all levels. She reminds her students to laugh, learn and love themselves.
Coach with compassion, teach with an open heart. Enjoy the process, accept the change, and trust the journey.
