Are you the owner of Kinap Athletic Club?

Kinap Athletic Club, located in West Porters Lake, Nova Scotia, is a non-profit recreational organization situated in a beautiful cove on Porters Lake. Our club offers a range of services including a summer day camp for children aged 5-12, facility rentals, and community programs. With a longstanding partnership with Halifax Regional Municipality, Kinap offers swimming lessons, as well as a lifeguarded public beach, making it an ideal family recreational facility.
The Kinap Athletic Club Summer Day Camp operates from Monday to Friday, July to August annually from 9 AM to 5 PM. The daily schedule and activities are carefully planned by our Head Camp Counsellor and staff, offering a mix of engaging activities both in and out of the water. The camp is a collaborative effort with Head Camp Counsellors, Paddling Coaches, Counsellors, volunteers, and the Kinap Board all working together to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for campers.
At Kinap Athletic Club, our mission is to provide high-quality, diverse, and accessible programs, services, and facilities that promote fun and fitness for all ages, cultures, and abilities. Founded in 1982 by Ralph “Jigger” Mott, Kinap has been offering the opportunity for residents in the surrounding communities to participate in canoeing and kayaking for over 30 years. The name “Kinap” comes from a Mi'Kmaq word meaning “someone who excels”, reflecting our goal to support members in striving for excellence in their athletic pursuits.
Whether you're looking for a summer camp for your child, wanting to rent our facilities, or join in community programs, Kinap Athletic Club has something for everyone. Come and be a part of our vibrant and welcoming community!
