Are you the owner of Kim Sellis Yoga?

Kim Sellis Yoga is a London-based yoga instructor offering everyday yoga classes for people of all skill levels. Originally from Chicago, Kim has a background in pharmaceutical biology and a passion for fitness. She began her journey in fitness as a competitive gymnast and later trained as a triathlete, achieving her 1st Dan in Shotokan Karate. After transitioning from her pharmaceutical career, Kim became an accredited personal trainer and yoga instructor.
Kim's yoga practise is rooted in her love for science and sport. She is known for her welcoming and motivational teaching style, catering to everyone's unique anatomy. Her classes focus on the rhythm of breath, creating a seamless flow from one pose to the next. Each session aims to leave participants feeling longer, stronger, and calmer.
For new students, Kim offers Vinyasa yoga classes. Vinyasa is a dynamic style of yoga where participants flow from one pose to another, synchronising their breath with movement. Kim's Vinyasa classes include flowing movements, longer holds, and a combination of stretching and strength-building exercises. Modifications are provided to accommodate different fitness levels, and props such as blocks, straps, blankets, or towels are recommended but not required.
Kim's yoga classes have a strong scientific focus, and she aims to teach practises that have evidence-based benefits. While some classes may incorporate elements of mindfulness, breathing techniques, and sensations, Kim does not include chanting or spiritual practises that cannot be supported scientifically. She encourages students to find their own spiritual journey and focuses on optimising anatomical functionality and inner calm.
Flexibility is not a requirement for Kim's classes. The emphasis is on moving through a comfortable range of motion and exploring the sensations along the way. Modifications and props are provided to ensure a comfortable practise for all participants.
New students are required to complete a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) before attending their first class. This form asks about health and injury history to ensure the safety of all participants. It is recommended to update the form every 12 months or if there are any changes to health conditions.
To help new students get a feel for Kim's teaching style, she offers free slow flow yoga classes on her YouTube channel. These classes are suitable for most levels, while the power classes are designed for those with more experience seeking a challenge.
